Sri Pada / Adam's Peak Sri Lanka

Sri Pada, also known as Adam's Peak, is a significant mountain peak located in Sri Lanka. The pilgrimage season to Sri Pada typically begins in December and lasts until April, coinciding with the dry season. The most popular route to reach the summit is through Hatton town, where the trail starts. The climb consists of approximately 5,500 steps, and there are rest stops along the way for pilgrims to catch their breath and enjoy the scenic beauty.

Reaching the summit before sunrise is a common practice, as it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and a captivating phenomenon known as the "Shadow of the Peak." During this time, the rising sun casts a triangular shadow of the mountain on the mist-covered plains, creating a remarkable sight.

Aside from its religious and spiritual significance, Sri Pada is also a haven for nature enthusiasts. The mountain is encompassed by lush forests and is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including rare species.
